The Puppy Thing

So today I gave-in to "The Puppy Thing." Jen now has a 1 and a 1/2 month old Australian Shepard / Blue Heeler mix. (It was born April 1st of all things and I think the prank just took a little time to get to me.) Granted he's pretty cute but aren't all most puppies cute?

I've always been against getting pets especially cats, dogs or other attention, time and money sucking creatures. However, I realized last week one thing when a neutered male Siberian Husky without any identification whatsoever walked into our yard and almost stayed for good. Jen doesn't want a dog, she needs one! And, if I won't get her one God would send one without my worthless consent.

Jen has said time and again that getting a dog would greatly decease her anxiety and give her company while I'm off working. I really hope that it does in fact do that for her. I may have some long nights working on various projects that I'm doing for multiple people.

Don't get me wrong, I like dogs. I just don't like dishing out more money and attention to ... well any pet. I would much rather prefer spending my money and attention elsewhere. But for the sake of peace of mind, Jen sleeping better at night and not feeling as lonely I'll welcome "Tug" to the family.
